Posted by Rachel Jarvis on Tue, Aug 23, 2022

Keenan Sharrock The Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce  Keenan Sharrock, a 2022 recipient of one of the 19 Doug and Renee Leuthold  Scholarship awards and one of the 19 Margaret and Donald Wenner, MD  Scholarship awards.

Keenan, the son of Courtney Aaron Sharrock, is a 2020 graduate of Colonel  Crawford High School. He is entering his third year of a Bachelor’s Degree in  Engineering at Ohio State University this fall.

What is your favorite aspect of college life?

“My favorite aspect of college life would be the diversity. I have met people from all around the world that have come to Ohio State, and I find this fascinating because growing up, I went to school with the same people, only meeting people when someone new moved into town or when we traveled somewhere for an event like Districts for Swimming.”

What new interest or courses of study have you discovered at college?

“I took a German course and found that it was really fun learning a new language.”

In what ways has the college experience changed/improved you?

“I have grown as a person by being on my own and learning new things from the people I meet.”

What advice would you give an incoming college freshman?

“Bug your professors, even if it’s the smallest question, go ahead and ask it. The more you know and understand the topic, the easier it will be for you to learn more complicated things further on.”

What is one item on your bucket list?

“I would love to travel the world and experience all the different cultures and see the sights that make the world beautiful.”

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Keenan!
