Reece Zeigler

The Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Reece  Zeigler, a 2022 recipient of one of the one of the 19 Margaret and Donald  Wenner, MD Scholarship awards.

Reece, the son of Chad and Michelle Zeigler, is a 2020 graduate of Bucyrus High  School. He will be entering his third year of a Bachelor’s Degree in Art and  Design at Hiram College this fall.

What is your favorite aspect of college life?

“I've enjoyed many aspects of college life at Hiram. I have enjoyed attending classes, being on the golf team and working with the athletic department. I've been working on campus making graphics for the athletic department’s social media. I also enjoy attending sporting events and taking photos of the events. I use the photos to make my graphics. Getting to work with the athletic department has helped me realize that my future career will be making sports graphics, either at the college level or professional level.”

What new interest or courses of study have you discovered at college?

“I have always loved art and design, but discovering photography has been a new interest for me. I love that I can take one of my photos and make it into a graphic that is displayed on Hiram College social media pages. I have also been selected to the Garfield Presidency Scholars. Traveling and learning about history has always been another interest of mine.”

In what ways has the college experience changed/improved you?

“My college experience has really improved my time management skills. Between classes, golf, and working on campus, I have learned to manage my time to be able to get everything done on time. Managing my time has helped relieve a lot of stress about getting things done.”

What advice would you give an incoming college freshman?

“My advice to incoming freshman would be to get involved. Unfortunately, I was not able to get involved with much my freshman year because of COVID. Now that things are returning to normal, I'm becoming more involved on campus, and I absolutely love the groups and activities I'm involved with.”

What is one item on your bucket list?

“One thing on my bucket list would be to travel to Las Vegas. On June 15, 2022, I will be able to cross it off. I will be traveling with my family to Las Vegas for my 21st birthday.”

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Reece!
