What is your favorite aspect of college life?

"My favorite aspect of college life is the community on campus. I have really enjoyed getting involved and meeting new people. I also really love that there are so many unique opportunities available tome in college. There is always something going on, and I appreciate opportunities to try new things."

What new interest or courses of study have you discovered at college?

"Since coming to college, I have continued my interest in serving others by volunteering both on campus and in the community. I've really enjoyed getting involved in Campus Ministry and serving in leadership roles there. I have also found new interests in gardening, as I have lots of plants and succulents in my house."

In what ways has the college experience changed/improved you?

"My college experience has been such a blessing, and it has allowed many opportunities for me to grow. Though I have experienced many challenges along the way, college has taught me more about perseverance than any other time in my life. College has also allowed me to become more independent and responsible."

What advice would you give an incoming college freshman?

"I would tell incoming freshman that although the transition to college can be hard at first, it's all about balance: life, school, friends. It may seem overwhelming at first, but just make sure that you're never spending all of your time in one area and neglecting the others. A healthy work-life balance, good time management and boundaries, lasting relationships with others, and your mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health are the most important. I would also encourage them to get involved in a faith community on campus, as that has certainly been one of the highlights of my college career."

What is one item on your bucket list?

"One item on my bucket list is opening my own bakery! I love to bake and although I have been hired to make cookies and cakes for many people over the years, someday I would love to own my own business."

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Sarah!
