Abigail Crager The Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Abigail  Crager, a 2023 recipient of one of the 19 Doug and Renee Leuthold Scholarship  awards.

Abigail, the daughter of Timothy Crager and Krista Crager, is a 2022 graduate  of Galion High School. She will be entering her second year of an Associate's  Degree in Business Management at North Central State College this fall.

What is your favorite aspect of college life?

"My favorite aspect of college life is meeting new people within multiple age groups. College classes are filled with diverse age groups, which can make learning more intriguing due to the unique styles of learning. I have benefitted from this a few times for the reason of having the opportunity for classmates to be able to explain material from their real-life experiences."

What new interest or courses of study have you discovered at college?

"A new course of study that I was unaware that my college provided was Agriculture Management. Although I cannot take this course due to this being a CCP class course, I would have taken this in high school."

In what ways has the college experience changed/improved you?

“During my college experience, I have become more confident for the reason of not being micromanaged by high school personnel. I have also learned to become more independent and responsible by learning to take accountability for deadlines.”

What advice would you give an incoming college freshman?

“The advice I would provide for an incoming freshman would include not being afraid to use resources provided by the college. Campuses have many opportunities for students such as tutoring and counseling. I would also advise them to benefit from using professors’ office hours and communicating with academic advisors when needing information or direction.”

What is one item on your bucket list?

“An item on my bucket list is to visit Iceland and see its beauty. I would choose to go during the month of November due to the Northern Lights being more prominent for viewing.”

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Abigail!
