2023 Scholarship Recipient Spotlight: Allison Close

Posted by Rachel Jarvis on Thu, Aug 24, 2023

Allison Close The Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Allison  Close, a 2023 recipient of one of the seven Kenneth Cummins Scholarship  awards.

Allison, the daughter of Jeffrey Close and Christine Close, is a 2023 graduate of  Buckeye Central High School. She will be attending Owens Community College  this fall and will be studying to be a Physical Therapy Assistant.

What inspired you to choose your intended major?

"What inspired me to pick this major was when I tore my ACL in basketball, and I had to go to physical therapy to help me recover. After I went to physical therapy, it made me want to help other athletes recover so they can return to their sport. I want to help people better themselves and be even better than before they got injured."

What are your career and life goals after you graduate?

"My career goals are to become a physical therapist, and I would like to be a physical therapist for a sports team one day. My life goals are to become successful and create a happy life for me and others."

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Allison!
