Allison Lust The Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Allison  Lust, a 2023 recipient of one of the 19 Doug and Renee Leuthold Scholarship  awards, one of the 19 Margaret and Donald Wenner, MD Scholarship awards,  and the Nancy Angene Johnson Scholarship award.

Allison, the daughter of Matt Lust and Holly Lust, is a 2022 graduate of  Wynford High School. She will be entering her second year of a Bachelor's  Degree in Primary Education at The Ohio State University this fall.

What is your favorite aspect of college life?

“My favorite aspect of college life is getting to experience all of the opportunities The Ohio State University provides me with. Already in my first year, I have joined clubs (OSU PenPALS and Saddle & Sirloin Club) and was able to complete a student teaching observation at Prairie Lincoln Elementary School. I am looking forward to gaining more experiences and opportunities my second year!”

What new interest or courses of study have you discovered at college?

“I had a student teaching observation placement at Prairie Lincoln Elementary School, which is 20 minutes south of campus. Going into college, I expected to want to come back to Crawford County and teach at a local area elementary school. However, after being placed in a school with demographics and cultures completely different than what I am used to at home, I learned that I love working with kids from those backgrounds!”

In what ways has the college experience changed/improved you?

“The college experience has changed and improved me in many ways! I am very thankful that I moved away for college as it has allowed me to experience new things and become more independent. It has also allowed me to experience new things and become more independent. It has also allowed me to see all of the opportunities the world has to offer.”

What advice would you give an incoming college freshman?

“My advice for incoming college freshmen is to enjoy your first year as much as possible. Your first semester will go by fast, but spring semester goes by even faster!”

What is one item on your bucket list?

“One item on my bucket list is to run a half marathon with my mom. She has run a few by herself, but we have always wanted to run one together. I think running a half marathon would be a fun experience for my mom and I because she was my cross country and track coach in high school.”

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Allison!
