The Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Chloe Kaple, a 2023 recipient of one of the 19 Margaret and Donald Wenner, MD Scholarship awards.
Chloe, the daughter of Brett Kaple and Holly Collene, is a 2022 graduate of Wynford High School. She is in her first year of an Associate’s Degree to become a Physical Therapist Assistant with a minor in Fitness Management at Hocking Technical College.
What is your favorite aspect of college life?
“My favorite aspect of college life is the fact I get to learn and grow into the person God made me to be on my own! I have changed a lot in the past year, and I’m grateful for the time I get to grow into the career and purpose God laid out for me.”
What new interest or courses of study have you discovered at college?
“Physical Therapy is such an amazing major even though it takes a lot of work, but I’ve gotten to minor in Fitness Management and learn even more about the human body.”
In what ways has the college experience changed/improved you?
“College definitely has pushed me to exhaustion, but during all the struggles and long study nights, God reassured me just how smart I am, and how I am definitely stronger than what I let on.”
What advice would you give an incoming college freshman?
“Best advice would be to work to become the smartest in the room, and humble yourself when the time comes for you to help others, because you’ll learn just as much if not more from your peers.”
What is one item on your bucket list?
“I want to go on vacation with my mom and sister. We all worked jobs during the summer to afford college, so our summers were cut short. I am grateful for my mom and sister and the sacrifices we’ve made together to make college a reality, and when I graduate, I want to take my family on a nice vacation to thank them.”
