Posted by Rachel Jarvis on Tue, Aug 01, 2023

Emma Von Der Hofen  The Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Emma  Von Der Hofen, a 2023 recipient of one of the 19 Doug and Renee Leuthold  Scholarship awards.

Emma, the daughter of Kevin Von Der Hofen and Denise Von Der Hofen, is a  2023 graduate of Galion High School. She will be attending the University of  Cincinnati this fall and will be studying Exercise Science with a minor in Music.

What inspired you to choose your intended major?

"Health professions, specifically physical therapy, have been a huge interest of mine since middle school. I have always had a fascination for human anatomy and its physiological responses. In addition, I have developed an interest in helping others. I want to positively impact individuals' well-being, both physically and mentally. Most importantly, I want to make a difference through the promotion of healthy living and physical activity."

What are your career and life goals after you graduate?

"After I graduate from the University of Cincinnati, I plan to attend a physical therapy graduate program to obtain my doctorate. I also want to continue with my passion for music and share my love for the violin by giving lessons or joining an orchestra on the side. Overall, I want to strive to do the things I love, while also being successful."

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Emma!
