Rosalyn Johnson  The Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce  Rosalyn Johnson, a 2023 recipient of one of the 19 Margaret and Donald  Wenner, MD Scholarship awards.

Rosalyn, the daughter of Monica Johnson, is a 2022 graduate of Bucyrus High  School. She will be entering her second year of a Bachelor's Degree in Speech-  Language Pathology and Audiology at Mount Vernon Nazarene University this  fall.

What is your favorite aspect of college life?

"My favorite aspect of college life has been the close connections and new friendships I've been able to make in just my first year. I've loved being able to make new friends, and I hope to grow these friendships throughout my future years in college."

What new interest or courses of study have you discovered at college?

"I haven't really discovered any new interests since being in college, but I have enjoyed participating in music-related extracurriculars as well as groups involved in community service."

In what new ways has the college experience changed/improved you?

"I have definitely become more outgoing since being in college. I have been more willing to meet new people, and I have made a lot of new friends."

What advice would you give an incoming college freshman?

"I would tell incoming freshmen to not be afraid to meet new people. That was something that was really hard for me to do, but it is so much easier to make friends in college because you are surrounded by new people.  I've made so many good and strong friendships that I wouldn't want to be without."

What is one item on your bucket list?

"One item on my bucket list is to travel to Europe. I love travelling, and I have always wanted to go there. There are so many countries that have so much history and beautiful architecture, and I would love to experience it with my friends and family."

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Rosalyn!
