The Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Ayla McKibben, a 2024 recipient of one of the two Dustin T. Stover Scholarship awards and one of the two Rollie & Esther Wilson Scholarship awards.
Ayla, the daughter of Bradley McKibben and Krista McKibben, is a 2024 graduate of Colonel Crawford High School. She will be attending Bowling Green State University this fall and studying Adolescence to Young Adult Education- Integrated Mathematics.
What inspired you to choose your intended major?
"Growing up, I have always had a love for numbers and helping others. Over the past few years, I have gotten some experience teaching others in the classroom since my mom is also a mathematics teacher. I chose a major in mathematics education so that I could share my love of numbers with students. I have also grown up loving to do sports, and I would love to help individuals grow both in the classroom and in athletics in the future."
What are your career and life goals after you graduate?
"Following graduation, I hope to become a high school mathematics teacher. I hope to help students find a love for mathematics as much I have growing up. I know that math is typically a challenging subject in school, so I hope to someday find a way to help students understand the subject easier and enjoy learning along the way."
Congratulations and good luck in the future, Ayla!
