Elizabeth SchubertThe Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Elizabeth Schubert, a 2024 recipient of one of the two James E. Huggins, Sr. and Margaret M. Huggins Agricultural Scholarship awards, one of the six L. Earl Smith Scholarship awards, and one of the three Richard A. Miller Scholarship awards.

Elizabeth, the daughter of Marlene Schubert, is a 2024 graduate of Crestline High School. She will be attending University of Findlay this fall and studying Animal Science - Pre Vet.

What inspired you to choose your intended major?

"I chose this major because animals have always been a huge part of my life. From showing alpacas and rabbits at the Crawford County fair to fostering young kittens through the Richland County Humane Society, my life is surrounded by animals. I cannot see my life in a career not dedicated to helping them."

What are your career and life goals after you graduate?

"I plan to attend Veterinary School after I earn my Bachelor's of biology with a focus on animal science from the University of Findlay. I also plan to earn my veterinarian technician licensure during my Bachelor's Degree so that I can work as a veterinary technician until I can get my DVM. Once I earn my DVM, I plan to work as a veterinarian with a specialization in exotic animals."

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Elizabeth!
