What is your favorite aspect of college life and why?

"My favorite aspect of college life is having the opportunity to meet new people and make lifelong friendships. I have met people worldwide with different backgrounds and perspectives, which has enhanced my college experience in ways I never expected. These friendships not only supported me but have also helped me grow as an individual."

What new interests or courses of study have you discovered at college?

"While at college, I discovered a liking for public health and decided to minor in it. This interest has led me to take courses in epidemiology and health policy, which have opened my eyes to the importance of preventative medicine and healthcare access for all individuals. I believe this minor will complement my major in exercise science and provide me with a well-rounded understanding on how to promote overall health and wellness in diverse populations."

In what ways has the college experience changed/improved you?

"The college experience has allowed me to become more independent and self-sufficient. Being three hours away from home, I had to navigate my schedule, manage my responsibilities, and make important decisions all on my own. Overall, the college experience has helped me grow as an individual and prepare for the challenges of the real world."

What advice would you give an incoming college freshman?

"A piece of advice I would give an incoming college freshman is to step out of their comfort zone and try new things. You never know what opportunities may arise from taking risks and pushing yourself to explore unfamiliar territory. Embrace the unknown! Additionally, never be afraid to seek help or guidance from professors, advisors, or counselors whenever needed: they are there for a reason."

What one item is on your bucket list and why?

"One item on my bucket list is to travel to Germany and experience the rich culture and delicious cuisine. Since my family has German heritage, I have always been interested in learning more about the country and connecting with my roots."

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Emma!
