The Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Eva Feasel, a 2024 recipient of one of the nine Glen and Alice Beers Scholarship awards.
Eva, the daughter of Shawn Nicholas Feasel and Corinna Joe Feasel, is a 2022 graduate of Buckeye Central High School. She is in her third year of a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work at The Ohio State University.
What is your favorite aspect of college life and why?
"My favorite aspect of college life is the diversity of campus and being able to connect with other people from different backgrounds. I love that OSU has so many resources to make goals attainable."
What new interests or courses of study have you discovered at college?
"In college, I discovered I had an interest in different fields of social work than I had originally intended on focusing on. I came to college with an exact plan for my career and since then, I've had the opportunity to try different things that have altered my career goals."
In what way has the college experience changed/improved you?
"My college experience has taught me a lot about being true to myself and focusing on my own goals."
What advice would you give an incoming college freshman?
"The advice that I would give to incoming college freshman is to not compare yourself to others. So many people from different backgrounds and with different intentions come to college. There is not a 'perfect college experience' despite the one you create for yourself. Overall, work hard and never forget to enjoy yourself."
What is one item on your bucket list and why?
"One item on my bucket list is to travel abroad again. I returned from my study abroad experience in Peru on June 22nd and had an amazing experience. I hope to travel to Europe or other Latin American countries."
Congratulations and good luck in the future, Eva!
