The Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Isabella Evak, a 2024 recipient of the Alyssa Pine Memorial Scholarship award and one of the three Tyler Niese Memorial Scholarship awards.
Isabella, the daughter of Brian William Evak and Rhonda Kaye Evak, is a 2024 graduate of Buckeye Central High School. She is attending The Ohio State University- Mansfield this fall and studying Early Childhood Education.
What inspired you to choose your intended major?
"My mom has been in education for 31 years teaching kindergarten at Galion City Schools. My oldest sister Lexi recently graduated from college at Heidelberg University majoring in Early Childhood Education and will be teaching 3rd grade at Marion Local Schools this fall. My middle sister Julia is a junior at Bowling Green State University majoring in Early Childhood Education. I have helped out in various classrooms at Buckeye Central throughout my high school career and love working with children and have the same desire to become a teacher."
What are your career and life goals after you graduate?
"My goals after I graduate are to get a teaching job close to where I live currently in New Washington and stay fairly close to home if possible. I love the area where I have grown up. I would like to teach 2nd or 3rd grade and get married and have a family. Being close to family is important, and having my mom and sisters as mentors in this field will hopefully guide me along to a successful and long career in education."
Congratulations and good luck in the future, Isabella!
