The Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Jakob Fishel, a 2024 recipient of one of the 19 Doug and Renee Leuthold Scholarship awards and the Stan and Carolyn DeGreve Scholarship award.
Jakob, the son of Darcie J. Fishel, is a 2024 graduate of Crestline High School. He will be attending North Central State College this fall and studying Mechanical Engineering Technology.
What inspired you to choose your intended major?
"I have always been surrounded by people in the engineering field. In addition to this, I've always had a keen interest in science and math, which helped steer me in the direction of engineering."
What are your career and life goals after you graduate?
"After graduating, I would like to secure a research or development engineering role in chemical or biochemical engineering after graduating with my bachelor's degree. While I pursue this career goal, I would like to continue to aim for a higher education to help further my long-term goals."
