Posted by Rachel Jarvis on Wed, Jul 31, 2024

Parker WestThe Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Parker West, a 2024 recipient of one of the five Kenneth Cummins Scholarship awards and one of the three Tyler Niese Memorial Scholarship awards.

Parker, the son of Shawn West and Kristy West, is a 2024 graduate of Buckeye Central High School. He will be attending Ohio Northern University this fall and studying Computer Engineering.

What inspired you to choose your intended major?

"After being exposed to programming through Buckeye Central's robotics program, I've held a keen interest in technology, specifically computers. I've always wanted to just take one apart and look inside of it as a learning experience. With that now completed, I decided that I really enjoy building computers and would love to design them in the future."

What are your career and life goals after you graduate?

"Once graduating college, I would love to find myself with a solid entry-level career where I can build my skills and move up on the workforce ladder. Besides paying off student loans, I plan to travel the globe before settling down."

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Parker!
