The Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Rachel Teynor, a 2024 recipient of one of the six Crawford County Sports Hall of Fame Scholarship awards.
Rachel, the daughter of Kevin Teynor and Shaun Teynor, is a 2024 graduate of Colonel Crawford High School. She is attending The Ohio State University this fall and studying Comparative Studies.
What inspired you to choose your intended major?
"I have always loved learning about different cultures. By the middle of my senior year, I had already gone on multiple college visits. I had an idea of what type of field I wanted to go in, but I was still unsure of my major. I had decided that of the schools I visited, I like Ohio State the best. After I made that decision, I went through all of the majors that were available and realized that Comparative Studies best suited my end goal."
What are your career and life goals after you graduate?
"After I graduate, I would like to join the United States Peace Corps. My ideal regional placement would be either Central or South America because I already know a decent amount of Spanish. After the Peace Corps, I want to have a career that allows me to continue traveling."
Congratulations and good luck in the future, Rachel!
