Rachelle WadeThe Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Rachelle Wade, a 2024 recipient of one of the two fall semester Pry Scholarship awards.

Rachelle is a 2003 graduate of Galion High School and is pursuing a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Nursing at North Central State College.

What inspired you to choose your intended major?

"I chose nursing after my first child was born. I had a wonderful team of nurses that took care of my daughter and me when she was born, and I was inspired by the empathy and exceptional care we were given. I realized I wanted to make that kind of impact on others in the healthcare field."

In what way has the college experience changed/improved you or your life?

"College has tremendously changed and improved my life. I am able to take care of individuals using skills and great care, which is very rewarding. Nursing is a wonderful career that can always be expanded on, and the opportunities are endless. I love being a nurse, and gaining my Bachelor's Degree will be a great asset to my education, credentials, career, and patient care."

What advice would you give a non-traditional student who is contemplating taking college courses?

"My advice is to go for it! It is never to late to gain education and/or further education. Everyone is capable of their dreams if they utilize resources and work diligently to attain their goals."

If you could go back in time, but couldn't change anything, what time would you go to?

"I would go back in time to the era of Jesus's life to meet him!"

What's something that you love that everyone you know hates?

"I love storms! They're intriguing and beautiful!"

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Rachelle!
