What is your favorite aspect of college life and why?
"My favorite aspect of college life is the networking opportunities available to me. From participating in my campus's AIAA chapter to coordinating events for my fraternity, I have access to numerous connections that can significantly benefit my future career and personal development."
What new interests or courses of study have you discovered at college?
"At college, I have gained a further understanding of fluid dynamics and enjoy studying and learning about airplane propulsion technologies and structural aerodynamics."
In what ways has the college experience changed/improved you?
"College has allowed me to experience a new environment in which I had no prior connections or support network. This experience helped me develop valuable life skills ranging from how to do laundry to how to manage complex social situations."
What advice would you give an incoming college freshman?
"For incoming college freshman, my advice would be twofold. Firstly, I'd encourage them to embrace new experiences and get involved in a variety of activities. College is not just about academics; it's a time for personal growth and exploration. By trying new things and stepping outside of their comfort zones, students can discover their passions and interests beyond the classroom. Secondly, I'd stress the importance of time management. With a full schedule of classes, extracurriculars, and social events, it's crucial to develop a routine to effectively manage their time. Setting priorities, establishing goals, and utilizing tools like calendars or planners can help students stay organized and maintain a healthy balance between their academic and personal lives."
What is one item on your bucket list and why?
"One item on my bucket list is to travel to Europe for an extended period of time to visit a bunch of different countries, attending soccer games all across Europe. This is my bucket list item because I like adventuring and watching European soccer."
Congratulations and good luck in the future, Walker!
