The Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Addysen Pope, a 2025 recipient of one of the two Dr. Laurie Anne Rhodebeck Memorial Scholarship awards, one of the two James E. Huggins, Sr. and Margaret M. Huggins Scholarship awards, one of the six L. Earl Smith Scholarship awards, and one of the five Robert Schwaderer Scholarship awards.
Addysen, the daughter of Rebecca Pope and Bryan Pope, is a 2025 graduate of Buckeye Central High School. She is attending Columbus State Community College this fall and studying Veterinary Technology.
What inspired you to choose your intended major?
"Growing up on a farm, I developed a deep appreciation for animals and the vital role they play in our lives. From a young age, I was actively involved in their daily care, which instilled in me a strong sense of responsibility and compassion. These experiences sparked a genuine interest in animal health and well-being, ultimately inspiring me to pursue a degree in Veterinary Technology."
What are your career and life goals after you graduate?
"After I graduate with my degree in Veterinary Technology, my primary career goal is to work as a licensed veterinary technician in a clinic or animal hospital, where I can provide high-quality care and support to both animals and their owners. Long term, I would love to be part of a practice that serves rural communities, helping ensure that all animals, whether pets or livestock, receive the care they need. Beyond my career, I plan to live on a farm of my own, where I can care for my own animals and enjoy a life surrounded by the people I love."
Congratulations and good luck in the future, Addysen!
