What inspired you to choose your intended major?

"I've been fascinated by technology for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I was always curious about how things worked, and I knew early on that I wanted to pursue a career in the tech field. My mom, who has a degree in computer science, played a big role in inspiring me. She showed me the value of working in technology and always encourage my interest in it. Another big influence was Jake Schaaf, the IT specialist at my school. I always looked up to him and admired the work he did. One day after school, I had the chance to meet with him, and he introduced me to the field of cybersecurity. As soon as he explained what it was and how important it is in today's world, I knew it was the career path I wanted to take. His passion for protecting systems and solving problems really stuck with me, and from that moment on, I was set pursuing cybersecurity as my major and future career."

What are your career and life goals after you graduate?

"My main career goal is to become a cybersecurity professional who helps protect people and organizations from online threats. I've always had a strong interest in technology, and when I learned how important cybersecurity is in today's world, I knew it was the path I wanted to follow. I want to build a successful career in this field, so I can provide for my future family, support those I love, and use my talents to serve others. A big part of my life goal is to live with purpose, guided by my Christian faith. I believe God has a plan for me, and I want to honor Him by working hard, continuing my education, and making a positive impact in the world. Through college, I plan to gain the skills and experience I need for a career in cybersecurity while also growing as a person. I want to be someone who lives with integrity, supports my family, and uses my career to make a real difference in the lives of others."

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Dawson!
