The Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Lilly Blankenship, a 2025 recipient of one of the 10 Kenneth Cummins Scholarship awards and one of the three Tyler Niese Memorial Scholarship awards.
Lilly, the daughter of Laura Wentz and Damien Blankenship, is a 2025 graduate of Buckeye Central High School. Lilly is attending The University of Akron this fall and studying English.
What inspired you to choose your intended major?
"I was inspired to pursue a degree in English from listening to lawyers in seminars speaking on how English is a good major for people who want to become lawyers. An English major provides students with a solid foundation for language that is needed for the career."
What are your career and life goals after you graduate?
"My career and life goals after graduate are to go to college, then attend law school with the goal of becoming a lawyer. After law school, I want to use my degree to do good in my community and help others navigate the system."
Congratulations and good luck in the future, Lilly!
