The Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Lucas Cianflone, a 2025 recipient of one of the three Tyler Niese Memorial Scholarship awards.
Lucas, the son of Nancy Faye Crum and Michael Anthony Cianflone, is a 2025 graduate of Buckeye Central High School. He is attending The Ohio State University Mansfield this fall and studying Computer Science.
What inspired you to choose your intended major?
"I chose to major in computer science because I want to shape the future of technology. At a young age, I was fascinated by computers and how technology is integrated into society to make our lives better and help us accomplish tasks more easily. As a computer programmer, I will improve technology to make it more efficient and help further technology's integration in assisting people in their everyday lives."
What are your career and life goals after you graduate?
"I will be attending The Ohio State University at the Mansfield branch to earn a degree in Computer Science. I will use that degree to become a computer programmer, which I will use to move technology forward and be one to create software that will not only help people accomplish tasks more easily, but improve people's lives as well. I love the Crawford County community as it has provided me much support and has helped me to discover my career goals after graduation. Because of this, I plan to stay in the Crawford County area to use my computer and technology skills to help the local community."
Congratulations and good luck in the future, Lucas!
