Posted by Rachel Jarvis on Sat, Jun 20, 2026

Alexis FarnwaltThe Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Alexis Farnwalt, a 2026 recipient of one of the two John W. Brubaker, Jr. Scholarship awards and one of the 20 Margaret and Donald Wenner, MD Scholarship awards.

Alexis, the daughter of Tina Keinonen and Ryan Farnwalt, is a 2026 graduate of Bucyrus High School. She is attending Miami University this fall and studying Biology.

What inspired you to choose your intended major?

"I chose biology because I've always been interested in science and helping others. I've known for a while that I want to become an OB-GYN, so biology felt like the right path for me. After learning more about the program at Miami University, I knew it was something I wanted to pursue. Throughout high school, I stayed involved through Girls Boosters, National Honor Society, student council, FCCLA, and serving as class president. I also participated in cheer, track, and tennis. These experiences helped me become more confident, hardworking, and prepared for college."

What are your career and life goals after you graduate?

"After I graduate, my goal is to attend medical school and become an OB-GYN. I want to have a career where I can help and support women while making a positive difference in people's lives. Along with building a successful career, I also hope to continue growing as a person, stay involved in my community, and create a stable and meaningful future for myself and my family."

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Alexis!
