Camryn SchaferThe Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Camryn Schafer, a 2026 recipient of one of the 20 Doug and Renee Leuthold Scholarship awards.

Camryn, the daughter of Tami Dee Schafer and Brian Lee Schafer, is a 2020 graduate of Buckeye Central High School. She is attending North Central State College and studying Business Management.

What is your favorite aspect of college life and why?

"My favorite aspect about college life is being able to create my own schedule. I am an online student so it gives me a little leeway on when I want to do my homework."

What new interests or courses of study have you discovered at college?

"A new course that I have discovered is Speech. Though I was never the biggest fan of standing in front of people and talking about a specific topic, I believe this class has given me more confidence to do that."

In what way has the college experience changed/improved you?

"A good way that the college experience has changed me is that it forces me to develop a routine. Between work, school, and taking care of my kid, Myles, it is a lot to balance, but it has forced me to discipline myself to get things done in a timely manner."

What advice would you give an incoming college freshman?

"I would tell an incoming college freshman that they should get a planner. Writing down what needs to get done and when it need to be done is very beneficial. It helps you lay out your week/month on how you should be prioritizing things."

What is one item on your bucket list and why?

"One things on my bucket list that I plan on doing is going skydiving. My best friend, Raven and I have planned on doing this, and we are hoping to do it in 2027."

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Camryn!
