Hannah Delong-1The Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Hannah Delong, a 2026 recipient of the Bucyrus High School Class of 1971 Scholarship award, one of the four Merle and Peg Hutson Scholarship awards, and one of the three Stan and Carolyn DeGreve Scholarship awards.

Hannah, the daughter of Shayla Delong and Keven Delong, is a 2021 graduate of Crestline High School. She is attending Cleveland State University and pursuing her Master of Social Work degree.

What is your favorite aspect of college life and why?

"Transitioning from on campus, undergraduate studies at The Ohio State University to online graduate studies at Cleveland State University has reflected two very different experiences. However, one thing that binds the two is the sense of independence that comes with investing in myself and my future."

What new interests or courses of study have you discovered at college?

"I am eager to begin courses in veterinary social work this fall! I am particularly passionate about extending compassion to animals and took classes surrounding this in undergrad. Finding out that veterinary social work existed during graduate school was a sort of "full circle" moment for me."

In what way has the college experience changed/improved you?

"College has further fueled my ambition to chase what fulfills me, while giving myself grace in the process. My outlook on life has shifted knowing that I am capable of accomplishing whatever pursuit I put my mind to, and I have the decision to take those pursuits and put good into the world."

What advice would you give an incoming college freshman?

"Challenge yourself! Try and fail, then try again!!"

What is one item on your bucket list and why?

"I love to travel and have always wanted to visit Europe. I would love to take trains across different countries, experience the culture, try new foods, and develop my own perspective on what life is like on the other side of the world."

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Hannah!
