The Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Kellen Burger, a 2026 recipient of one of the six L. Earl Smith Scholarship awards and one of the three Robert Schwaderer Scholarship awards.
Kellen, the daughter of Carly Burger and Ryan Burger, is a 2026 graduate of Buckeye Central High School. She is attending The Ohio State University and studying Animal Science.
What inspired you to choose your intended major?
"I chose animal science as my major in order to become a veterinarian in the future. I enjoy working with animals and have my whole life, so I believe this major is best for me."
What are your career and life goals after you graduate?
"After I finish my animal science degree, I hope to attend OSU's vet school. I want to focus on both small and large animals, even though I prefer working with livestock. I also hope to eventually start my own practice in order to do as much good as possible."
Congratulations and good luck in the future, Kellen!
