The Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to introduce Miranda Stone, a 2026 recipient of one of the 20 Doug and Renee Leuthold Scholarship awards and one of the 20 Margaret and Donald Wenner, MD Scholarship awards.
Miranda, the daughter of Amanda Teeters and Christopher Stone, is a 2024 graduate of Galion High School. She is attending Ashland University and studying Accounting.
What is your favorite aspect of college life and why?
"My favorite aspect of college life is having the opportunity to be more independent. I also enjoy the flexible schedule and making new connections on campus."
What new interests or courses of study have you discovered at college?
"I discovered accounting my freshman year of college and fell in love with it. This past year I discovered corporate finance which I also enjoy."
In what ways has the college experience changed/improved you?
"College has changed and improved me in many ways, but I would say the main way is that it has forced me to advocate for myself. I have learned that if I need help or something isn't right, than I have to be the one to advocate for myself."
What advice would you give an incoming college freshman?
"I would tell an incoming freshman to put themselves out of their comfort zone and try new things. I would also encourage them to go to as many on campus events as they can."
What is one item on your bucket list and why?
"One item on my bucket list is to win a national championship before I graduate college."
Congratulations and good luck in the future, Miranda!
