2012 Crawford County Scholarship Recipients

The Bucyrus Area Community Foundation is proud to introduce the 2012 Scholarship winners.

The Kevin A. Binau Scholarship

binau2012Lindsey E. Pfeifer, Wynford High School

Parents: Edward & Jenny Pfeifer
College Attending: Cedarville University
Anticipated Major: Keyboard Pedagogy
High School Highlights: "I have been involved in music of many kinds throughout high school, from worship team at my church, to musicals at school, to piano lessons for thirteen years. I am a four-year member of the Wynford Varsity Swim Team. I also enjoy a variety of community service projects such as the outreach I started at Orchard Park Nursing Home where youth musicians perform regularly, and the 5th and 6th grade youth group at my church. I look forward to continuing my involvement in music and community service in college.”

The John W. Brubaker, Jr. Scholarship

College Attending: The Ohio State University, Marion
Anticipated Major: Nursing
High School Highlights: "I participated in cheerleading and volleyball all four years of high school. I earned the all county All Star Cheerleader Award. I served in many offices: Treasurer of Girls Boosters, Vice President of National Honor Society, and Senior Class President."

The Samuel Neff Fellowship for International Study

College Currently Attending: Miami University
Major: Economics and Accounting
International Experience: "Nathan was chosen to participate in the Miami University Farmers School of Business Honors Study Abroad program. It is a four week program that will include Birmingham, UK, London, Normandy, Versailles & Paris, France, Luxembourg and Heidelberg & Frankfort, Germany. Nathan will receive 7 credit hours in marketing and economics while attending classes, having guest business speakers and taking business trips."

The Dustin T. Stover Scholarship

College Attending: North Central State College
Anticipated Major: Criminal Justice
High School Highlights: "I was a member of National Honor Society, 4 year academic award letter winner, delegate to the American Legion Buckeye Boys State. I was active in church youth group, 4H club, Jefferson Township Fire Department Explorer, and was a youth flag football coach. At school I participated in Teen Institute, Project B.L.A.C.K., varsity football, varsity track and weight lifting team."

Taylor Hoffman, Wynford High School

Anticipated Major: Nursing
High School Highlights: "I have been my class secretary all four years of high school, am a second year member of National Honors Society, involved in Interact Club, Science Club, and have received numerous awards for academic achievements. I was a 3 year varsity letterman in volleyball. Outside of school I am involved in 4H, do numerous community service activities, and work at D.T. Petroleum."
