In 2000 and 2012, The Community Foundation for Crawford County offered matching grants to the five school systems within the CF4CC's service area. These funds were established so that the income off the funds went directly back to the individual school systems. In 2013, The Community Foundation for Crawford County offered matching grants to each of the endowment funds held at the Foundation. The donations raised by these organizations totaled $47,372, which was matched by the CF4CC at .50 cents for every dollar raised. This totalled $23,686 that was shared among the organizations.
Match Day 2014 "Ignited Crawford County" with Giving Tuesday. The donations raised by participating organizations totaled $49,590, which was matched by the CF4CC at .50 cents for every dollar raised.
In 2015, the CF4CC theme was "Match Day Ignites Crawford County!" Our 5th annual Match Day, and now subsequent Match Days will occur in conjunction with Giving Tuesday, to be held on the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving. This year the date was Tuesday, December 1st, 2015. The board of directors has agreed to match up to $25,000 raised on that day for the endowment funds of the agencies and schools for whom the dollars were collected. In 2015, the community helped raise over $85,000!
Match Day 2016, or #Giving2sDay, as we are calling it, will take place on Tuesday, November 29th, the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving. This year, 2016, the board of directors has once again agreed to match up to $25,000 raised on that day. The board has stated that their goal for this year's Match Day will be $100,000! We are certain the community will rise to this challenge and raise these funds, which benefit the agency endowment and scholarship funds.
