The Bucyrus Area Community Foundation held its Annual Meeting at the Bucyrus Public Library on Thursday, October 4, 2012. Several community members also took advantage of the opportunity to visit the Foundation for a tour of the facility.

The Bucyrus Area Community Foundation is pleased to announce the grant allocation for the first half of the year 2012 totaling more than $245,000. During the first granting cycle this year, the BACF awarded grants in two categories: Competitive Grants and Multi-Year Grants.

Open House Set for February 2 to Celebrate New BACF Facility

On Thursday, February 2, the Bucyrus Area Community Foundation will host a Business After Hours event to celebrate the opening of its new office on East Mansfield Street in Bucyrus. The event, scheduled from 5pm to 7:30pm, will give community members the opportunity to see the new facility featuring offices for both the BACF and Crawford College Connection, as well as a state-of-the-art conference room that will be made available for small group meetings within the community.

Bucyrus Area Community Foundation in Top Philanthropic Tier Nationally

The Bucyrus Area Community Foundation recently received notification that it has met the nation’s highest philanthropic standards for operational quality, integrity and accountability. The notice comes from the Council on Foundations, a national professional association based in Washington, D.C.

Each year, the BACF awards grants fromfour categories; Competitive Grants, Multi-Year Grants, School Endowment Grants and Designated Fund Grants. The Foundation also awards a total of five (5) scholarships annually to Bucyrus and Crawford County senior students.

BACF Match Day Nets Nearly $35,000 for Crawford County Charities

The Bucyrus Area Community Foundation (BACF) held its annual Match Day event November 17. On that day, any money raised by organizations that had endowment funds with the foundation was matched $0.50 for every dollar raised by that organization. Although the foundation’s goal of $50,000 was not met, $35,000 was considered a much needed boost to local non profits by BACF executive director, Janet Pry.

Community Foundation Giving Non-Profits Opportunity to Grow

On November 17, 2010, the Bucyrus Area Community Foundation (http://www.bacfoundation.org) will hold its annual MATCH DAY. On Match Day, any money raised by organizations that have endowments held at the Bucyrus Area Community Foundation will be matched $0.50 for every dollar raised, up to a maximum of $25,000. The money being raised is STRICTLY for additions to the organization’s endowment funds.
