Lauren, the daughter of Gordon and Angela Kohler, is a 2019 graduate of Bucyrus High School. She will be attending The Ohio State University this fall and studying health sciences.

From a very young age, Lauren has known she wanted to be a doctor. “My entire life I have wanted to be a doctor,” she explained. “I would pretend to be a doctor for my stuffed animals as a child, curing whatever illness or disease they may have had. However, it was when my grandmother got sick that I truly realized how much I wanted to be able to help others in my future career. My grandmother’s doctors performed a miracle by saving her life, and from that moment on I knew that I was destined to create miracles of my own. I was born to do this.” After graduating, Lauren plans to go to medical school. “My goal is to become a pediatric surgeon. I want to be able to make a difference in a child’s life, maybe even save a child’s life. Getting married and having a family is also a very important goal of mine. Ten years from now, I hope to be going to work every morning as a surgeon and coming home to my family every night as a mother.”

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Lauren!
