Nicole, the daughter of Randy and Diane Fortner, earned her GED certificate in 2009. In the spring, she was attending the Crawford Success Center, a satellite of the North Central State College located in Bucyrus, and studying human services. Nicole is married, has four kids, two boys and two girls, and enjoys crocheting. If she could go anywhere for a dream vacation, she would choose Disney World.

Nicole was inspired by family experience to choose human services. “[I want] to become a drug and substance abuse counselor,” she stated. “My family and I have been touched by substance abuse through a family member. I would love to help those who are currently addicted so that they can better themselves.” After graduation, Nicole plans to get a job as a substance abuse counselor to “help others… [and] give back to my community.”

When asked what she enjoyed most about college at the Crawford Success Center, Nicole stated, “The teachers took the time to sit down and explain things thoroughly.”

Nicole’s advice to any non-traditional students contemplating taking college classes: “The best bet would be to go to the Crawford Success Center because they will take the time to make sure and get you the help you need to pass your class.”

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Nicole!
