Tammy, the daughter of James and Linda Baker, is a 1989 graduate of Barry Goldwater High School in Phoenix, Arizona. She is attending the Crawford Success Center, a satellite of the North Central State College located in Bucyrus, and studying human services. Tammy has two sons, Joshua and Aaron, and three grandbabies. She enjoys crocheting and adult coloring in her spare time.

Tammy was inspired to go back to college for herself. “I wanted to go back to school…to prove that I could do it,” she stated. “It is something I should have done a long time ago, but marriage and kids were what I chose at the time – taking care of and worrying about everyone else. Now it’s my turn to worry about me.” After graduating, Tammy can mark ‘get a degree’ off her bucket list and prove that life circumstances and past choices do not define you. It will be the culmination of “a dream I’ve had for 30 years.”

When asked to describe what she is enjoying most at college right now, Tammy said, “Learning new things every day and just soaking up the information.”

Tammy’s advice to any non-traditional students contemplating taking college classes: “Do it. This is a great opportunity and one of the best decisions I have ever made.”

Congratulations and good luck in the future, Tammy!
