Our own President, Janet Pry, was named "Citizen of the Year" at the Bucyrus Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner on Tuesday, October 29.
Janet was recognized for her tireless work in the community, among many other things. Janet became the executive director of the Community Foundation for Crawford County (formerly known as the Bucyrus Area Community Foundation) in 1999. She has helped the Foundation grow from 2 mioolion dollars in assets to one with over 12 million dollars. In addition, she was instrumental in getting the Foundation approved by the National Standards of Community Foundations.
She has spreaheaded many initiatives to make Crawford County an even better place to live. She is involved in many different organizations in the community, including SPARC, 20/20 Vision, and CCEEDP (Crawford County Education and Economic Development Partnership).
We at the Foundation are very grateful for all of Janet's efforts on behalf of Crawford County and are very happy to have her recognized in this fashion.
