bacf scholarshipsThe Bucyrus Area Community Foundation is pleased to announce the 2011 Scholarship Winners. Each year, the BACF awards scholarships to Crawford County students who have exceled in academics, athletics and community service.

“The quality of applicants continues to amaze me,” said Janet Pry, BACF Executive Director. “These are not only good students, but they’re also very active in school activities, sports and community organizations. I don’t know how these students do it all!”

This year’s scholarship winners represent 4 of the 6 school districts in Crawford County. The winners include:

  • Aaron Bishop, Wynford High School – The Kevin A. Binau Scholarship
  • Kristina Snouffer, Bucyrus High School – The John W. Brubaker, Jr. Scholarship
  • Nicholas Kalb, Buckeye Central High School – The James E. Huggins, Sr. & Margaret M. Huggins Agricultural Scholarship
  • Tyler Shade, Buckeye Central High School – The James E. Huggins, Sr. & Margaret M. Huggins Agricultural Scholarship
  • Padraic Stanley, 2008 Bucyrus High School Graduate – The Samuel Neff Fellowship for International Study
  • David Roseberry, Colonel Crawford High School – The Dustin T. Stover Scholarship
  • Nathan Glowaski, Wynford High School – The Dustin T. Stover Scholarship

Each year, the BACF receives a significant number of scholarship applications from Crawford County students. “The total number of applications varies from scholarship to scholarship,” Pry said. “For example, we only had a few for the Neff Scholarship (international travel) but probably 40 or more for the Binau scholarship which is open to all Crawford County students.”
